Shrinking is that rare hybrid; a laugh-out-loud comedy that turns on a dime into a lump-in-your-throat drama. The show centers on Jimmy, a therapist who breaks convention by choosing to be brutally honest with his clients.

Shrinking is also rare in how it lovingly depicts Pasadena, a bucolic city in Los Angeles County that is rarely allowed to be itself on film.  To depict Jimmy's close connection with his neighbors, the team chose unique homes in Altadena with second-floor decks facing each other, vividly illustrating their special bond.

This filming location, never before used, required residents special permission for overnight scenes, a first for the area.
